Description We are currently seeking an experienced Buyer for this organisation based in Castleford, you will be responsible for the sourcing and buying of products ensuring stock levels are maintained. Duties will include; Ensure minimum out of stock situations and maximum stock turnover is achieved. To work autonomously in the research and sourcing of new and existing product lines. Run and utilise various reports in line with departmental requirements. Circulate daily procurement emails to suppliers when sourcing stock. Negotiate the best pricing and terms on all designated product areas. Be responsible for the development and growth of your given product area. Liaise with suppliers to obtain the necessary documentation. Utilise the best cost effective method for the collection of supplier orders. Ensure the order collection costs are collated when using third parties. Communicate with your line manager in order to carry sufficient stock to cover promotional activities. Maintain and develop new and existing supplier relationships through regular meetings and daily correspondence. Obtain and update Suppler Questionnaires and maintain the central supplier reference. Identify departmental problems and opportunities and communicate to your line manager. Liaise with other departments to ensure good communication.
Skills & Requirements Applicants must have buying experience within a high volume environment, ideally technical along with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
