We are currently seeking an experienced laptop engineer to join this organisation based in Castleford, you will be responsible for setting up this new department and managing it. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate with real career opportunities. Duties will include; Troubleshooting and repair of computers and notebooks (HP, Compaq, Toshiba, IBM, Apple and many others. Repair of laser, inkjet and matrix printers (HP, Tally, Epson, Canon, Tektronix and Apple). Extensive electronic skills to component level, also knowledge of surface mount technology, board repair/rework as well as Jtag knowledge. Use of a using variety of automated testing equipments (ATE). Maintenance, replacement and fault finding of monitors, hard drives, floppy drives, CD & DVD ROM drives, motherboards, video & sound cards, NIC's, memory and power supply units. Building and configuring servers and PC's to customer specification. Installing operation systems such as MS DOS, Windows 3.x, 95, 98, 2K, MacOS9.x, MacOS X. Providing technical support over the telephone for hardware and software problems to users of all abilities. Procurement of IT equipment such as PC's, notebooks, printers, consumables and spare parts. Extensive use of diagnostic hardware such as oscilloscopes, DVM's, frequency counters, frequency generators, etc. Software installation on all platforms. Good use of MS Word, databases, and the Internet |
